Sa7ten’s Operations Update: Emergency Bread Distribution

11 November, 2025

On 11 November, Sa7ten carried out an urgent bread distribution in Al-Azhar Camp, responding to repeated calls from displaced families who had gone days without basic food. This intervention unfolded in the middle of relentless IOF bombardment across Gaza – despite declared ceasefire terms – and under a blockade that continues to restrict the entry of food, medical supplies, and fuel. Families in tents live with hunger, freezing weather, and constant fear, while patients needing evacuation for life-saving treatment remain trapped.

A mother in Gaza's al Shati Camp receives a bag of bread from the Sa7ten team.

The team secured 140–150 bundles of bread, navigating shortages, damaged roads, and shrinking market supplies caused by the IOF’s refusal to allow adequate humanitarian aid into Gaza. Five to six volunteers were deployed specifically for this task, even as the rest of the team prepared for a major blood donation campaign scheduled for the following day. This dual effort reflects the rhythm of Sa7ten’s work: responding instantly to urgent needs while sustaining long-term operations under siege.

In Al-Azhar Camp, families welcomed the bread with relief. Many had run out of food entirely. Parents caring for children, elderly people living in exposed tents, and families supporting widowed relatives all depended on this distribution for their only meal that day.

Team members described the moment plainly: “Everyone is deep in the heart of suffering.” No social distinctions remain. Former professionals now stand in bread lines; families who once lived securely cannot afford tent rent; and even the smallest requests carry the weight of deprivation. As one father told the team: “By God, we haven’t tasted chicken in two years.” These testimonies reveal the deliberate collapse of daily life under the current assault and the blockade that sustains it.

The reality surrounding these activities demands a wider frame. International and regional powers continue to issue statements while enabling the conditions under which families starve, hospitals collapse, and ceasefire promises are violated. Their passivity shields the ongoing destruction of Gaza’s society and the attempt to strip its people of agency and future. Yet Gaza continues to endure. It refuses erasure.

Supporting Sa7ten is more than humanitarian assistance – it is an act of standing against policies designed to subjugate Gaza. Your solidarity ensures that families receive food when markets empty, that women and elderly people are relocated from exposed tents, and that daily emergencies do not go unanswered. At a time when powerful institutions fail to uphold even their own agreements, standing with our people becomes a form of accountability. Gaza continues – and so will we.
