January 2025 Operations.
January 2025 saw a concentrated effort on infrastructure development, particularly sanitation, and continued aid distribution.
January 1st - 10th: First Toilet Construction Initiative
The team started the construction of toilets for a camp, clearing rubble with a bulldozer to find a suitable spot. They then laid foundations by welding steel beams together for the structure. Due to the lack of cement and concrete, the walls and roof were made of zinco steel plates, which were cut and welded to the structure to create 14 bathroom stalls. The team painted the toilets, removing rust before applying paint. The final stages involved digging up sewage systems, laying pipes for sewage and water, completing the sewage channels, and finishing the flooring. Toilet seats were placed, and water tanks were set up. A metal fence was constructed around the toilets. Upon completion, a small event with sweets for the children living in the camp was held to celebrate the functional toilets. This was the fourth toilet construction project by Sa7ten, using zinco steel instead of cement due to the siege.
