The Genocide Continues, Whether or Not You Are Watching
“Instead of hearing 2,000 explosions a day, today they hear 100, 200, or 300. This is the only difference.”
“Instead of hearing 2,000 explosions a day, today they hear 100, 200, or 300. This is the only difference.” Abu Karam, Sa7ten’s Field Director, reported from Gaza on April 7, 2026. He describes a reality the world has chosen to ignore, comforted by the word "ceasefire." For people inside Gaza, the "waterfall of blood" has never stopped. Abu Karam says the war feels as if it is just beginning, with assassinations, constant shelling, and even robots deployed in the eastern regions. The "peace" seen on screens is only a quieter version of the same violence.
The numbers are overwhelming, but many people have started to ignore them. As of April 2026, more than 72,289 people have died, and over 172,040 have been injured. 81% of all buildings in Gaza have been destroyed. At Sa7ten, we witness the anatomy of this genocide every day.
Abu Qamar, Sa7ten’s Operations Director, explains the severity of the restrictions: "The crossings allow only 5% to 10% of the goods agreed upon in the written truce. The aid entering is a small portion, mostly for traders and large international organisations, but it does not cover even a quarter of our people’s needs for food and water.
This is not just a logistical problem; it is a deliberate attempt to break a people. While it may seem like the world is sending help, Sa7ten does not receive any money from international organizations. We depend completely on the generosity of individual donors, people like you from around the world. But as media attention fades, support is dropping. We are facing a man-made famine with fewer resources every day. Prices for basic needs have more than quadrupled, making even a simple food package out of reach for the families we help.
"We are not outsiders. Our team in Gaza is made up of Gazans who are living through this crisis. We are the mothers, fathers, and neighbours who see hunger every day. We know what is needed because we are the ones in need.”
And do not let the word "ceasefire" deceive you. The breaches are the policy of the Israeli genocidal army. Just this week, an Israeli strike murdered 10 people east of the Al-Maghazi camp while they were simply gathered together. In March 2026 alone, 217 aid missions were flatly denied access. As Abu Karam notes, "The humanitarian work has become weak because the outside world believes things have improved and the war has ended... but on the contrary, the war has not ended, and the people are in continuous suffering."
At Sa7ten, we notice the silence from the outside world. We feel it as we prepare for three urgent blood donation drives. As Abu Qamar explains, "The blood bank is asking us for these drives because every single day there are still injuries, martyrs, and wounded. The waterfall of blood continues."We are not outsiders. Our team in Gaza is made up of Gazans who are living through this crisis. We are the mothers, fathers, and neighbors who see hunger every day. We know what is needed because we are the ones in need."
Sa7ten will stay. We do not expect global solidarity. Most people look away as soon as the news moves on. We do not wait for the world to notice. Still, we hope a few will remember. If you give, it means you have not forgotten.
Do not think this is over. Please donate now and stand with our people.
